Mindless Behavior All Around The World: Singing and Dancing Their Way into the Hearts of Millions

The Ring is one creepy movie, and that's why it's so effective. Director Gore Verbinski loads his adaptation with plenty of haunting imagery even while the tension seems always just at the boiling point. Even hardcore fans of the original were pleased to see The Ring diverge from the source material in some ways and take full advantage of its larger budget. Hollywood hasn't always found success in mimicking Japan's horror gems, but they certainly hit gold with The Ring.

But it is also one of the most romantic of the classic monster movies, with Boris Karloff giving a sincerely affectionate performance as the title monster, who longs to bring his love back to the 20th century with him. And The Mummy bestows a majesty to its supernatural elements that make the film otherworldly and alluring.

Mindless Behavior All Around The World Full Movie

Almost every single part of this movie is so full of devastating win - from Carol Ann's warbled white-noise voice to freakin' angry trees that bust through your window to grab you - that one is almost able to forgive the less-than-warranted sequels. This house may now be "clean," but your pants are going to need changing.

Farrow is perfect in the role of Rosemary; as she slowly unravels, the more she discovers what shady cult dealings are happening all around her. The entire world seems to be conspiring against the most innocent of people here, as the Devil watches from the wings and Rosemary breaks down.

Using a serial-killer cannibal with a doctorate to help catch another serial killer is as bare bones as you can get with this Best Picture Oscar winner. But the movie is much more than that. It's the scariest film ever made built around psychology and deduction, with both used as crime-solving tools and murder weapons. Yes, blame this movie all you want for your friend's bad Hannibal Lecter impersonation that never seems to get better, but it gave us one of the screen's all-time iconic villains and Anthony Hopkins the role of his career.

Alien doesn't resemble many sci-fi movies of the time. Artist H.R. Giger designed a world full of twisted tubes, cold hallways, and pervasive darkness. Before Alien, pop culture never warned us how dark, dirty and scary the cold depths of space were. Director Ridley Scott adopted a "less is more" approach that later sequels sadly abandoned; modern directors can cram all the Aliens and Engineers they want into their films, but none can match the sheer claustrophobic terror generated in the original film.

The movie's premise - a little girl possessed by a demon - is scary enough as words on paper. But what director William Friedkin does with it, aside from prove that he has a seriously strong (or frightfully off) constitution for this sort of stuff, is treat the extraordinary of it all as if it were really happening next door to us.

Stanley Kubrick's movie adaptation of The Shining is almost certainly the most popular Stephen King film. The project was an unusually commercially-focused one for Kubrick, but the same stylistic elements that defined his earlier films were on full display, and the film remains a haunting and unsettling chronicle of a family man's psychological breakdown.

Pop culture is full of stories of robots gaining sentience and free will, not through magic, but via technology. If you make the system complicated enough, sci-fi writers insist, you’ll have created a living being who can make moral decisions. But if Data, C3PO or any other self-aware robot were brought into our world, we could do the same analysis on any of their actions that we did with the Roomba above.

Here in the real world, our most sophisticated AI can “learn” and program new behaviors based on input from the environment, seeming to grow and change on their own, to be “alive.” And yet, the creators can still go into the system and trace the exact cause and effect behind each “choice” and, in the process, observe that it literally could not have happened any other way. That design, plus this input, equals that outcome. It’s still just a spring turning a gear that clangs the cymbals.

This, for example, is at the heart of the debate over censorship and the “deplatforming” of dangerous expression. Those who demand Netflix pull a certain piece of programming or that Twitter ban a certain account believe that they personally cannot be brainwashed by offensive words, but that the rest of the public absolutely can. No one who is in favor of censorship would themselves ever dream of harming someone just because they heard a joke mocking that person’s demographic group... but they believe the world is full of people who would.

This paradox - seeing humans simultaneously as pure moral spirits floating separate from physical influences and also as mindless marionettes - is the root of every disagreement about how to run society. Go read the news and count how often we brush up against the question of free will, only to nervously dance around it. Politicians will say violent crime is due to destructive media like video games while the media will say it’s due to violent rhetoric from politicians, or pandemic-induced anxiety. But they all quietly agree that, to some degree, the people doing the violence didn’t freely choose.

How can you continue to subvert and censure the fact that the government's theory (myth) that 19 hijackers conspired to attack the US at the direction of leader in a cave in Afghanistan, cannot stand up to independent peer reviewed science? For you to sit there and talk about corporate wars, death, and poverty when the madness might come to an end with the truth, is heartbreaking to watch. I keep praying for a brave, respected , journalist of your stature to interview architect, Richard Gage about his worldwide organization, Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth. They are now approaching 1000 members including an architect whose father designed the Sydney Opera House. Richard is currently speaking in Japan after speaking in Australia and New Zealand. As the public awakens from their psyop induced stupor, members of the media are appearing more and more complicit in the crime. The very least you can do is tell us you are being threatened or censured when it comes to topics like 9/11 and stolen elections. If that be the case, encourage the public to look elsewhere for the full story. Until that happens, I have chosen to limit my donations to independent media where investigation and fact checking are not self contained within a reality resembling the Truman Show.

I am amazed how the mythology around 9/11 is continuously used by both MSM and progressive media (including this generally outstanding program) to justify mass murder in Iraq and Afghanistan. The idea that on 9/11 a rag-tag group of hijackers, with dreadful flying skills, managed to evade the most sophisticated air defense system in the world, crash planes into the twin towers, destroy the entire WTC complex and hit the Pentagon is nothing more than the most simplistic and uninformed thinking. WTC1 and WTC2, both weighing approximately 500,000 tons, where clearly blown to bits from the top down at near free fall speeds. The vaporization and pulverization of most of mass of each structure strongly indicates massive internal explosions from demolition charges (widely reported by first responders and survivors). And WTC7, which was not hit by any airplane, collapsed at free fall speed at 5:20 pm the same day. That gravitational acceleration alone is responsible is so improbable as to be impossible. The science is basically irrefutable and has never been addressed by the US government. Clearly the perpetrators would have needed access to all three buildings weeks or even months in advance to prepare, something quite impossible for non-state actors like Osama Bin Laden. The hijackers, if they were even real, where most likely were patsies in a much larger game. The corporate controlled media has done masterful psy-ops in the suppression of all serious questions about the events of that terrible day and used it to brainwash the American public of the righteousness of nine years of unrestrained genocidal warfare.

When Mr. Bush sent our country into war in the Middle East, I knew it would be another Vietnam situation. The reason being the history and culture of that part of the world is based on a war like approach to problems. For hundreds of years they have been fighting each other for whatever reason. Peace or a ceasing of fighting is only used until another approach is found to get around the enemy.

If Stone wants to find his moral compass to get his inner peace, he must atone for the evils of his movies. Stone needs to attack the corruption in our government process by instilling ETHICAL behavior by our elected officials. Maybe then, Stone can retrieve joy and self-respect in his heart and do right for the American people. 2ff7e9595c
